Day One....Kind of....

So, today was our first appointment with the developmental pediatrician and a whole team of people who specialize in autism. We (I) answered questions about Liam's behavior at home, and medical history. Liam got to play. He had a fun time playing with the toys, and being his normal self. Being normal for these evaluations is a good thing since it means he is acting like he does when he isn't being watched by 3 people at a time.

It seems he lacks normal eye contact and reactions to people. We already knew for sure he was behind on speech and since he is in therapy already they didn't look much at that.

So far everything is pointing towards autism though. Next week we go back for some developmental testing, and had blood work done for genetic testing....really fun stuff there. In a few weeks we will have a final meeting with official diagnosis and a plan of attack. I am happy we are getting things started this young, hoping it will help him get to be in a good place by school starting time.
